O Christmas Tree

Such Pleasure Do You Bring Me!

{December 7, 2014}

Especially with my kids dancing around you.

I love the light shining in from the front window on my joyful girl.

After Thanksgiving the kids helped me clean house, then we put up our Christmas Tree.
Emsley was my best helper. She stuck through with me fanning out the evergreen branches.

I love having a tree! It has been glimmering and spinning morning, noon, and evening.
We had put up the tree and the bottom third of the tree was not lighting up and the tree was not twirling.

Once Aaron got home he fixed it. You would have thought he saved the world we were so excited! Also I love our big window in the front of the house, great lighting (James was happily dancing as well, he just wouldn't stay still for a picture)

The days since have been filled with dancing merrily to Christmas music via Pandora.

I love how her eyes twinkle as the lights on the tree.
A friend told me about how her Dad paints something each year and gives a copy to each kid...one year he drew one of his Grandchild as the Christ child. I thought that was a neat thing. I have always thought it would be neat to have one of my babies play baby Jesus in a production. As I have thought about the Christmas story I feel very connected to Jesus and Mary each time I look at Jacob. Maybe its because the pregnancy and labor and joy of a new baby are fresh.

A German Carol

 Oh Christmas tree, Oh Christmas tree!
Thy leaves are so unchanging
Oh Christmas tree, Oh Christmas tree,
Thy leaves are so unchanging

Not only green when summer's here,
But also when it's cold and drear.
Oh Christmas tree, Oh Christmas tree,
Thy leaves are so unchanging!

Oh Christmas tree, Oh Christmas tree,
Such pleasure do you bring me!
Oh Christmas tree, Oh Christmas tree,
Such pleasure do you bring me!

For every year this Christmas tree,
Brings to us such joy and glee.
Oh Christmas tree, Oh Christmas tree,
Such pleasure do you bring me!

Oh Christmas tree, Oh Christmas tree,
You'll ever be unchanging!
A symbol of goodwill and love
You'll ever be unchanging

Each shining light
Each silver bell
No one alive spreads cheer so well

Oh Christmas tree, Oh Christmas tree,
You'll ever be unchanging

Monday Morsels 12/22/2014

:::Emsley:::

1.  Has put on a performance singing and telling jokes the past two nights. She had us all laughing. I cried I laughed so hard. She is so silly!  She would just come up with the jokes on the spot. She is getting a lot braver. I can't believe she sang for a room full.

2. She planned a "Christmas party" a menu for dinner, a dessert, she made name tags. Great grandma Mairiam was invited. When my mom hung up the phone from inviting her, Em said call her back and tell her she has to wear red and green. For dessert she and grandma made brownies from a mix. She insisted adding peanut butter in. ( I have made two desserts this month with her and added a twist to each. One being p.b.)

3. She has been doing her own hair more. Three times before school. It consists of a uneven part, braid on one side and the other side straight. I add in suggestions like maybe you could make the part straight or zig zag, or try braiding both sides. "No mom it looks good like this."

4. I will add that she is really good at braiding and putting in the elastic at the end.

5. This year she learned how to tie shoe laces.

6. Also some days she insists on putting together her outfits. Usually I let her pick, but the clothes are already put together.
:::James:::

1.  He has not been having as many accidents lately.

2. He has been listening to things as I try to teach him about being healthy, like why carrots are good and why we need to brush our teeth.

3. When he is talking to you he wants you to look right at him. Which is sometimes hard for me because I am usually in the middle of doing something with a sibling.

:::Brinley:::

1. She can open the door knobs at our house.

2. She loves her Uncle Joey.

3. She has been quite the pleasant girl. No terrible twos here.

4. She is getting good at sorting colors. I played with her a color flash card game yesterday.

4. She is showing signs of being ready to potty train. She will say when she has went.

:::Jacob:::

1. Has been laughing at family members when he is talked to.

2. Loves looking at Christmas decor especially Christmas lights.

3. Last week grew out of newborn clothing.

4. His face is getting round and he will open his eyes big. Looks of James when he was a baby.

5. Sometimes I will look at him and think he looks just like Aaron, but with blonde hair and blue eyes.

Steton Christmas Party 2014

At the Ledges Fish Rock Grille

Built in date night compliments of Aaron's work. Each year they have a Christmas Party and this year has been the best so far. Even the previous CEO said to the current CEO I'm glad you upgraded the Christmas party. I give this place 5 Stars! The dinning area has a huge fireplace. The staff is dressed the part and courteous. They served the dinner buffet style. They had a salad that had romaine lettuce, small diced apple and pears, with cashews, and craisins. Next was a butternut squash risotto and roasted halved brusselsprouts with bacon. Then roasted quartered potatoes, long cut veggie mix consisting of zucchini, yellow squash, carrot, and red bell pepper cooked to perfection(having a nice bite). There was a server carving ham and prime rib at the end. The star of the show was a salmon that I wished I knew how they made it. It had a cream sauce with capers, and sun dried tomatoes. Mmmmmm my mouth is watering just thinking about it.

A few pics before we left that remind me of photo booth pictures.
