Christmas Morning

Christmas Morning Bliss

It was quite the night being up four times. The baby woke up only twice to feed, the kicker was that the other two kids got up also. James just was comforted back to sleep. Emsley wet the bed (which hasn't happened in months). We were pretty tired and didn't wake up any too early. When I did wake up about eight I could hear James up. I went and found him he was still upstairs but not in the room he slept in. He had no diaper on. I found the stinky diaper; Off to the bath for James. This is real life. I then came down stairs with James all cleaned up and saw my Dad sitting on the couch. I asked him how long had he herd James? Oh about a half hour, he replied. I went to check on the other kids. Baby was up, time to feed. I then informed Aaron of the mess James had made that needed to be cleaned up. Now back to the Bliss....

James was super excited for his present a tool set with a battery operated drill. (Above)

Emsley enjoyed her present from us which was some mini princesses with changing clothes. (Below)

Brinley enjoying just watching...

Opening stockings...

Grandma Mairiam came over later that morning. She held the baby and oped a gift which was a silver clinique bag with lepord print P.J.'s.

Then the kids opened part of their gift from Grandma....adorable homemade owl hats for all three kids.

Joe woke up a little later and had fun with James...
James with his neon green pillow pet monkey from Grandma and Grandpa snuggled up with his tool set...
Tell you what that tool set was the perfect gift, and so was the one below!!!

Joe and Grandpa put together another toy... Mommy snuggled little Brin...

Emsley opened tinkerbell from Uncle Joe...James got a magnet boy doll with sports clothes...

What a great Christmas morning...

Christmas Eve Part 2-cookies

Christmas Eve
Part 2
Making Gingerbread Cookies
for Santa

In my family we have always made roll and cut out cookies for Christmas. It was a fond memory of my childhood. My mom appreciated that it was a fond memory. She told me she would have to give her self a pep talk to make them each year when we were younger. I mean I do agree they are a lot of work. Homemade dough then chilling it for x hours, rolling in out with the help of two kids, cutting them and getting them on the pan, decorating them and making sure not to burn them, not to mention the clean up. The kind we made were sugar cookies that you decorated with sugar sprinkles before baking them.

Well tradition lives on. We have made Gingerbread cookies for two years in a row now. The dough is made a little different and we decorate after we bake. This year the kids had a merry time helping make the dough, roll and cut them out, but the best thing decorating them.

Each took a turn to roll out the dough. Then we took turns with cutting out the cookies.

Emsley's favorite part was decorating them. James his favorite part eating them.
The middle bottom was Santa's plate of cookies. The kids picked one then wanted another and another pretty soon the plate was piled high. The bottom left was cookies for sharing.

Upper Left Em and James showing their favorite cookies.

JOY

 JOY
When we were expecting our third child we decided to have the gender be a surprise. I thought well we
do already have a boy and a girl. I did keep the clothes Em and James wore. There is nothing we really need to buy or prepare for. I played around with the idea and told a few people then told a few more that we may have a surprise. Soon I had told about everyone we know that we might have a surprise.

I would then talk to some of those people that I told and they would say things like, "That is so fun your having a surprise. My husband/wife would never let me do that." Then I would think to myself, "This is fun having a surprise. We are going to go through with it."

Emsley and James are opposites in lots of ways. The excitement was as exciting as it could be, boy or girl, brown or blonde hair, brown or blue eyes, olive or fair skin, loves to play with others, plays well by his self for long periods, picky eater or will give most food a try. There are some things both have in common they both have a big loving heart, concern for others, and beautiful/handsome.

Well I am over joyed to have two little girls and a boy in my life. It wouldn't have mattered boy or girl I can testify that children bring an immense amount of joy. Joy not only to our immediate family but extended family as well. Sometimes even just looking at them my heart wants to burst. I want to freeze time and feel this way constantly.

Christmas Eve:Part 1-present wrapping

Christmas Eve
Part 1
Present shopping and wrapping with Grandma Jolene

Emsley was a great helper to her Grandma helping wrap up the last gifts. Grandma let her tag along while doing some last minute shopping. One of those stops was the dollar store. Grandma let her pick out some presents to give out.

When they came back home she and Grandma wrapped them up. Emsley was so excited about this event. She told me not to peek because they were doing a surprise. She picked out each gift herself.

Top left her and grandma, socks for Joe, chip mix for Dad, Cupcake Bites for herself, helping wrap up Grandma's present to Joe new work boots, Muddy bears for James, Mints for Mama, and Hangers for Grandma.

One month old

Our favorite Christmas present:
This little sweety.
Emsley thought putting a bow on her head was hilarious.

Grandma Jolene loved coming home from work to hold Brinley.
Brinley would lift up when you held her to your shoulder. No laying down on the job for this baby she has to be up and seeing what is going on.
Her favorite thing to look at was a big clock my mom has in the upstairs living room.

One month old.

Top Left then clockwise:  Tummy time, smiles, looking at things on the wall, Ears: She has a little bit of a div-it on the upper back cart-ledge (Emsley did too) Aaron does have this same feature now. When looking at my baby book at my parents in my baby pictures I have the same ear feature, and this whole time i thought they Emsley and Brin's ears were from their dad. Next three pics are Brin holding up her head nice and strong looking side to side. Brinley loves being held so she can see what is going on around her.
