We put the piano in the corner and the kids still
managed to congregate there and play.

OUT and ABOUT

{March 6th}
I haven't been out much with three kids yet,
keeping kids in during the sick season.
Today I decided we needed to go to the library.
Since we haven't been out much I, Brinley rarely goes in the car seat.
She went off to dreamland. Slept on the way there.
We got there ten minutes early.
The kids went right to the fun library rug and sat down.
She woke up after the kids got involved in story time.
Nursed well with the nursing cover,
and enjoyed watching the kids the rest of story hour.
Emsley and James listened well.
This outing was bliss...

Another mother came in about 15 minutes late...towing two kids.
She kept having to tell one of her kids to sit down.
Her other child kept wandering off pulling books out from the shelves.
She had some snacks she pulled out...
(which i bet was a last resort noting no food allowed)
She let one of her kids sit in the chair next to her.
The other now getting up from the rug
wanting her treat.
She gives her some and she sits down.
Then James sees her and starts saying I want one.
She proceeds to put the treats away.
Then leaves before story time is over.
I was nursing Brinley while watching this other mother struggle.
I wanted so badly to empathize with her and say I've been there.
That this is one of those rare blissful occasions where things are going well.

The next week we went to library story hour. The first time out went so well, I thought I can do this it was actually easy last time.
It didn't last.
We were late to story time.
There were no big chairs for me to sit on.
I ended up sitting on the kid chairs at the kids table.
Hips off kilter because there to wide.
Every few minutes I was telling James to sit down so other kids could see.
He became uninterested and started bringing me books to read.
Brinley wanted me to hold her and not be put down.
When it came time for our craft Brinley had to nurse,
so I started to nurse her. James stayed at the table about 6 minutes.
Then wanted to see the large tall wooden bunnies that were on the bookshelf.
I tried to get him to come back to the table by just asking him.
Pretty soon he started to climb the bookshelf.
As soon as I saw this I unlatched Brinley held her in one arm put my nursing cover over me to stay modest.
Then ran for James. As I'm getting him down with one hand I must have held Brinley a bit tighter, because then she vomited about everything she had eaten. Soaking her outfit and the bottom of my shirt and one leg of my pants. I take us all to the bathroom. Get some of the spit up cleaned up then Brinley poops. So I clean her up while trying to keep Em and James in the bathroom.
Then James poops. By the time we got home let me just tell you I was exhausted!

Silly Sisters

What we have been up to...on valentines day I got the flu and it was one of the worst sicknesses I have experienced. The worst part was that it lasted and lasted for about three weeks. Sore throat, congestion, extreme fatigue, muscle aches, headache, nausea, no appetite, then the next day added ear aches, then the next day pink eye. This passed on to all members of the family. We stayed inside for another few weeks.

Emsley remembered that when she was little we took a picture of her with a diaper on her head... and I thought she looked like George Washington. Today she said lets make Brinley into George Washington.

Day with Dad

Today when I left for work I told Aaron "Take some pictures for me while I'm gone."
This is what he took... precious.

Library Rug

This is the rug at our St. George library that the kids sit on during story hour. James loves pointing out the characters and naming the colors of the circles on the outside border. I'll say to him go sit on ____ {usually the dog.} Another thing I love about the library decor, the artwork on the ceiling. I can sit with Brinley laying on my lap and she loves looking at the art.

PJ's, polaroid editing and more Brinley

I had to snap a pic of the kids this morning next to their baby sister. Oh boy do they ever love her. She eats up all that attention. I think she may get more attention than Emsley did when she was little. Even now as I type the kids are loving on her talking to her.

Toward the end of snapping photos she started to cry. I thought I want to capture this as well.
Again I have to say she is loving that she discovered her hands! It is so cute the way she stares at them with amazement.

Back to Church and Brunch with the Maddox Family

{February 10, 2013}

Today was our first day back to church in our ward since Brinley was born. After her getting RSV and consulting with the pediatrician we opted not to go out in public for a while. I tried to enjoy my "time off" but to be honest I could not wait to go back to church! When I got to Relief Society the president Bonnie Bracken was presiding over the meeting, and when it came time to welcome visitors she jokingly welcomed me. We all had a good laugh. It was fun to show off our new little bundle of JOY.

The Maddox Family invited us for Brunch. Aaron, is their home teacher; and that is how we met. We usually get together at least monthly and have not since before Brinley was born. Although we did see them when they dropped off some Christmas treats. We decided brunch because now our church starts at two and we get home around five thirty. Aaron cooked the bacon and Bed cooked up some eggs... there was also crescents, waffles, hash browns, and orange juice.

Here is the kids table with all enjoying brunch.

The Maddox girls: Ashley, Emma, and Amber.

 Emsley and James.

The brunch spread...

The Orange Juice splatter

Ben went to pour himself some orange juice. He picked up the jug and proceeded to shake it hard to mix up the pulp. Someone didn't put the lid on tight. He and the area surrounding him, but mostly his face ended up sprayed with orange juice. He was a good sport and smiling said "Who didn't put the lid on the orange juice." I apologized and admitted fault, also stating defense that I was pouring some juice with one had and holding Brinley with the other. Yes I put the lid on rather loosely but as best as I could with one hand. Everyone had a good laugh. Come to find out this has happened to Ben a few times. We have seen each other a few times since and every time that inside joke gets brought up. Good times!

See the lid on the floor? Can you spot the juice from whence it came?

Sweet baby Brinley snug as a bug in her car seat  The kids were in awe with her. Ashley and Amber just kept saying her toes and fingers are so little.
